The forecast for DAY 2 was partly comfortable, mostly brutal with a chance of getting worse! I mean seriously, fashion week show-goers could not catch a break! I shivered my way through the city with a packed day ahead of me. In this post I’ll be sharing coverage from 4 of my favorite shows out of the 7 that I attended on Day 2.
There was absolutely no rhythm or rhyme behind this outfit. No creative or strategic styling moves here, except for LAYERING! That was my secret weapon in surviving day two of Fashion Week.

Kate Spade is one of the few designers that can rock my world in a colorful way. Just when I thought color and I were going through a bad breakup, she quickly reminded me not to give up and give it a second chance. Every collection seems to tear my black, white, and grey walls down. For the first time in a while, I found myself entranced by the color pink. Wait? Did I just say that? This presentation was ALL GIRL! Pink hearts, pink bows, pink clutches, there was even a chocolate clutch! And just when I started to get overwhelmed, she knew how to soften the blow for me by adding some sort of edge to balance out the pretty princess/polly pocket theme.
^ I mean, that’s Wednesday Addams as a Kate Spade client! I love it!
That pink bow is so appealing when outfitted with a tailored pant. I can work with that, honey. – Now we switch our attention to the prints and plaids portion of the presentation!
This presentation ended with a chic “As if!” moment. Continuing the iconic tradition of staying true to plaid, this Beverly Hills Clueless Girl grows up to become a Park Avenue woman! Saying goodbye to the flirty plaid mini, and hello to the just-below-the-knee skirt! Bravo Kate Spade! And a special thanks for helping me rekindle the romance with an old fling. Color, I’ll see you in Spring.
Rebecca’s shows always leave me satisfied. She knows how to rock the runway, yet leaving it extremely possible for me to rock these pieces on the streets! This elevated contemporary brand is a household name during fashion week but never leaves potential clients intimidated to shop these affordable looks! Now let’s talk about this collection! I was getting some southern/rocker/hippie vibes throughout the show! A take on 70’s Janis Joplin but reintroduced to todays generation of women! (Runway photos : WWD)
This collection celebrated an era when women were bad to the bone! She didn’t forget to showcase two of my favorite looks that embodied that same attitude but in todays fashion! Charcoal grey structured hats, coupled with soft components, the knit dress and the yummy two piece, covered in a shearling coat. YES!!

Upon arriving this show, I did some research on this designer that I had never heard of before. I was informed that Naadam specializes in cashmere. Once I walked in, I immediately discovered that high end quality and fine cashmere pieces were the bread and butter of its collection. I was honored to be invited to the debut of its first collection for F/W 2015 during New York Fashion Week.
Background story : Naadam exists as a knitwear brand that sources the highest quality cashmere in the world. The cashmere is harvested seasonally from a region in Mongolia which carries the oldest method of nomadic life. I found out that Naadam purpose is to preserve and extend the nomadic lifestyle by continuing to harvest! Love this story. Goes beyond what we know as “fashion”
I completely respect this designer! Even more so for it’s gorgeous pieces. Delicate cashmere that transitions from soft, luscious feminine silhouettes , to the rugged and wilderness man.
YES to this show! The most rewarding and close to my heart – show of the day. WHY you ask? Well, I was lucky enough to be invited to this show early on, and found out the day before that this was the exact show that my best friend Tess Wilcox casted models for!
If you follow my social media outlets, then it is no surprise to anyone that every single Fashion Week in New York City, my best friend flies in from Dallas, Texas and moves into my East Village apartment for 2 1/2 weeks! When she isn’t styling for her agency, she is casting models for fashion shows all over the world! Milan, Paris, London and New York! Mens fashion week, ready-to-wear fashion week, and couture fashion week! Pretty glamourous right?! Well, for the most part anyway.
I see her behind the scenes. Her late nights in the office working hard before her shows, coming home at 2am, only to wake up a few hours later to get back to work! All of that for three weeks! WHAT DEDICATION! She devotes her blood, sweat and tears to what she loves to do! Extremely proud and inspired by her life-
